Primary Purpose:
The Senior Infrastructure Manager (IM) is responsible for the daily operations and security of Lube-Techs core voice/data networks (wired and wireless), end user technologies, and datacenter infrastructure.
The IM will work closely with the IT System Engineer in infrastructure design, installation, capacity planning, optimization, security and system/network monitoring and maintenance.
The IM will manage internal Infrastructure and Help Desk staff as well as external vendors and consultants.
This job requires a strong ability to multi-task in an environment of constantly changing priorities.
Principal Duties:
Configures hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
in accordance with standards or operational requirements.
Install new and rebuild existing.
Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, identify any possible intrusions, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Performs ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required to ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance for mission critical host computer resources by evaluating and modifying systems performance as necessary.
Develop and maintain installation, configuration, and operational standards and procedures including system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
Secures network system by enforcing security policies; defining and monitoring access, development of backup, DR, and business continuity plans.
Provides leadership during major infrastructure incidents and ensures that service is restored as quickly as possible, escalating when required, ensuring all stakeholders are kept up to date on network status.
Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to infrastructure configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
Partners with other IT team members to plan and execute other infrastructure related IT initiatives.
Manages data center hosting/cloud providers (One Neck) to establish the required connectivity to deliver end user services.
Owns and drives the implementation of IT Service Management ITSM standards across the company On call as needed for problems and incidents.
After hours, weekend work required during off-hours maintenance windows.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
BS/BA MIS, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience managing and configuring enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, WLANs, VPNs, etc.
5
years in a technical supervisory role Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, MS Exchange, Core Switching/Routing, TCP/IP, QoS, SSL/IPSec, SAN, Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, etc.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware such as servers, routers, bridges, switches, hubs, modems, network interface cards, and so on.
Demonstrated understanding of standard engineering concepts such as high availability, redundancy, reliability and testing, security and standards Solid understanding network routing and VoIP protocols.
General knowledge of VoIP equipment and operation desired Ability to work on assignments that are complex in nature and where considerable judgment and initiative are required in implementation and problem resolution.
Solid verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
Familiarity with Help Desk ticketing systems and ITSM best practices.
