Race Services Crew Member - Winter Seasonal - Full Time - Hastings, MN

Job Description:

Afton Alps is looking for an experienced Race Crew Member to assist our Race Services Team Lead in staffing race venues and managing that staff during daily operations. This position is a Full Time, Seasonal position with primary hours on nights and weekends.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist in hiring and training Competition Services personnel
  • Coordinate scheduling for Competition Services personnel
  • Supervise set up, maintain and tear down of USSA/FIS and Nastar race venues
  • Learn timing systems venues
  • Communicate with Race Services Team Lead & other Race Services Crew Members
  • Responsible for maintenance, repair, usage and inventory of department equipment, tools and materials
  • Coordinate on-hill aspects of events scheduled
  • Responsible for safety training and documentation
  • Make safety a top priority
  • Work with other staff and departments to promote a positive guest experience

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to, and sometimes more than, 50lbs - required.
  • Ability to stand outside in all weather conditions- required.
  • Ability to ski/ride outside in all weather conditions- required.
  • Valid U. S. Driver's license - required.
  • Ability to work with power tools (cordless drills, saws, etc.) - required.
  • Basic computer navigation skills and ability to use Windows-based programs - required.
  • Other duties as assigned - required.
  • High school diploma - required.
  • Race course operations - preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English - required.
  • Advanced skier - required.
  • Racing background - preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
